Starbucks and Snow

9:12 AM

To make this Christmas different, I am spending it in a non-tropical place. A place where you can truly enjoy a hot Starbucks while enjoying snow... or at least an improvised version of it.

Don't think far. LOL. I am just in Baguio!

We arrived in Baguio 2 hours before Christmas eve. We were greeted by a 14.4-centigrade cold night which was exactly what I was hoping for. We checked-in our hotel and went out again to be in a 24-hour restaurant just a few minutes before midnight. We didn't have that lavish dinner spread but that unusual noche buena of Good Taste's popular pancit, signature spicy buttered chicken and red velvet cake were enough to excite us for the night.

I learned that fireworks are illegal in all of Baguio so it was a pretty quiet Christmas eve. It only became noisy inside the restaurant when 12 midnight came and people greeted each other "Merry Christmas". You will be surprised that some are still rushing for their takeouts as late as 1PM.

At around 1 o'clock, we strolled at the nearby Burnham Park where we saw mostly young couples. After a few photos, we decided to go back to the hotel before we'll get sick with the chilly temperature.

What I am really excited is today, Christmas Day. It's not my first time in Baguio but it would be my first visit to be at the Christmas Village. To make it there with our moods not being spoiled by bad traffic, we left early and stayed in my favorite Starbucks store ever - Starbucks in Camp John Hay.

And what I have for the rest of the story are photos with a warm cup of the Christmas Panettone, Peppermint Mocha, and a lot of snow (again, the Philippine version of it). Happy Holidays everybody!:)

For those who are going to Baguio for the remaining days of the Holidays, there are two Starbucks stores in Camp John Hay. The first is at the Ayala- Baguio TechnoHub across the Convergys building and we have another one near the Baguio Country Club.

The Christmas Village, meanwhile, is at the Baguio Country Club and within a walking distance from the second Starbucks store. Entrance is PhP100 and kids 2 years old and below are free. The Christmas Village is open until January 4, 2016.
