Bloggers For Quezon City's 75th Anniversary

5:44 AM

Quezon City is home to 2.8 million people as of 2010. That's a lot of people, more than the population of the entire Cebu province which is made up of 9 cities and 44 towns. But that didn't happen overnight. Quezon City has been welcoming for the past 75 years.

When it was incorporated as a city in October 12, 1939, Quezon City is already crowded with almost 40,000 people. It's population has grown to 2% in the average, every year since. No wonder it is the most vibrant city in the country; home to two of the biggest TV stations, host to many huge malls including the world's 5th largest in SM North EDSA, became a center of education with UP- Diliman and Ateneo de Manila University in its boundaries and an instant go-to destination for sports and entertainment lovers having the 55-year old Araneta Colesium in its midst.

But there is more.

For the city's Diamond Anniversary, 75 bloggers will explore both the familiar and the unfamiliar greatness of Quezon City. We will explore history, its interesting street culture along with some trivia that you may or may not know.

You can follow me and the other bloggers on their blogs for stories about the mardi gras on Saturday, October 10th and Parade of Lights on Sunday, October 11th. You can also follow the hashtags #iLikeQC, #QCRocks75 and #QCBlogventure on social media for updates.

For now, here are some of the bloggers you can follow. These photos are from the headshot clinic we did last week with photographer Niccolo Cosme. Everyone is looking good in gray, don't you think.

P.S Sorry bloggers. I could not accommodate all 75 of you.
