Sweating It Out at EDSA Shangri-La's Health Club10:26 AM
I am looking at another very busy week ahead and I had the whole Sunday to prepare for it. I also just arrived from a trip in Davao and I know that I need to regain whatever energy I can if I want to make it through even with just Monday.
I heard about EDSA Shangri-La's Health Club now opening its doors to non-hotel guests. Wanting to pump a little to awaken all sleeping nerves in my body, I visited the club yesterday.
To have access to the Health Club, all you have to do is to register for a monthly membership fee of PHP10,000. You don't have to be tied to a 12-month contract. Pay one month and you can have unlimited access for a month. If in the next month you think you will be very busy with zero time to visit the gym, you can opt to un-enroll yourself and then you can just go back when you can.
The gym is open 24/7. Now, that's what unlimited means! It's just that the therapists will only be available from 6AM to 12 midnight. It is still a lot of time, right? Gym attendants can help you with your basic needs, like how to handle an equipment or how to operate a machine. One-on-one training classes, however, will be for an extra fee which varies on what kind of training your body will require. If you know your gym stuff already, you can do things on your own. You can attend boxing and aerobics classes for free!
OK, reality check. PHP10,000 maybe a little bit expensive for some but it's coverage is not exclusive to the gym access only. The Health Club has an amazing spa area that you can also use anytime; wet and dry sauna, hot and cold jacuzzi and luxurious shower and locker area. If you want to see some sun and some people, your membership also extends to free use of the hotel's outdoor swimming pool!
You don't have to wait for your turn on the treadmill in commercial gyms. I shall see you at the Health Club in EDSA Shangri-La. You can click here - www.shangri-la.com - to check them out.
